Liquid Rubber Roofing

Liquid Rubber Specialists

Liquid rubber roofing is a waterproof coating applied cold, as a liquid, which cures into a single flexible rubber membrane. Because it is applied rather than laid in sheets, it wraps around pipes, corners, upstands and roof lights with no joints for water to get through.

Liquid rubber is one of our specialities. It suits flat roofs on garages and extensions, balconies, box gutters and valley gutters, and roofs with lots of penetrations where a sheet membrane would need a lot of cutting and jointing.

In many cases a sound existing roof can be cleaned, repaired and coated rather than stripped, which keeps the cost and the disruption down. We check at the survey whether your roof is suitable, and tell you if a full replacement would serve you better.

Good to know

Liquid Rubber Roofing: common questions

What is liquid rubber roofing?

A cold applied liquid coating that cures into one seamless, flexible rubber membrane over the roof.

Can liquid rubber go over my existing flat roof?

Often, yes, if the existing roof is sound. It is cleaned, repaired and primed first. If the deck underneath has failed, the roof needs replacing instead, and we will tell you so.

Where is liquid rubber better than EPDM sheet?

On roofs with lots of pipes, corners, upstands and roof lights, and on gutters and balconies, where a liquid coating forms a seamless finish without cutting and jointing a sheet.

Can you coat gutters and valleys?

Yes. Liquid rubber works well for lining box gutters, valley gutters and parapet gutters.

Is it guaranteed?

Yes. The guarantee depends on the system used and the condition of the roof, and it is written on your quotation.
